Why ReTensioning®?

Most hands-on therapies are only aimed at changing the mechanical aspects of a person. ReTensioning® is different.  It’s a gentle, hands-on neurological technique that helps a person learn how to stop causing strains throughout their body.

ReTensioning® is an incredibly effective and groundbreaking technique to create the change and relief people seek.

This holistic physical therapy approach enables therapists to treat the  strains  on a joint and show the body how to fully rest.

How ReTensioning® Works

ReTensioning® helps by showing a person what they are doing and giving him or her the time to do the mechanical and neurological work of changing. In this way, the changes experienced are self-generated and thus occur at a pace that integrates with the person’s concepts of how things should feel.

A therapist performs ReTensioning® by assisting a person’s nervous system in discovering what it is like to fully rest an affected joint. This changes how they rest and organizes their muscular use to initiate movement.

ReTensioning® is a unique treatment to help your body work better
by finding the right balance between rest and activity.

ReTensioning® doesn’t just help you rest well when you need to rest and move easily when you want to move. It also helps other treatments work even better since it brings affected joints to a mechanically neutral place.
Most people sense the differences immediately and continue to improve over several days following a treatment.
